Rakai Health Sciences Program
is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery organization. It
strives to improve the quality of life of the local population through a
combination of community based research, curative services and prevention
strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is based at the
Uganda Virus Research Institute Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai District.
About CDC Program:
With funding from PEPFAR/
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), RHSP is implementing a 5 year
comprehensive HIV/ AIDS program in the 12 districts of Masaka region namely;
Rakai, Kyotera, Masaka, Kalungu, Bukomansimbi, Lyantonde, Lwengo, Sembabule,
Butambala, Gomba, Mpigi, and Kalangala with an aim of achieving rapid HIV
epidemic control.
Job Summary: The
Sanitary Officer assists in providing support for general office operations,
including maintaining the office premises clean (including the compound).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Tasked
    with photocopying documents and materials
  • Delivers
    and collects documents, supplies and paper work as directed.
  • Keep
    office area clean and tidy
  • Switch
    off electrical appliances when not in use
  • Maintain
    a clean compound
  • Maintain
    the offices and rooms immaculately clean
  • Perform
    work-related errands as requested



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Sanitary Officer job opportunity should hold an O’
    level certificate
  • Very
    clean and tidy
  • Experience
    in cleaning and working / serving a diverse range of people in an office
    environment
  • Excellent
    communication skills
  • Team
    player
  • Ability
    to take instructions
  • Ability
    to use personal judgment
  • Flexible
    in working hours
