Uganda Export Promotion Board (UEPB)
which is an equal opportunities employer is a semiautonomous public agency set
up by the Uganda Export Promotion Board Act 1996 under the Ministry of Trade, Industry
and Cooperatives with the main objective of facilitating the development,
promotion and coordination of all export- related activities that lead to export
growth on a sustainable basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    Director Trade Information will provide technical and administrative
    leadership of the Division
  • The jobholder will also prepare annual work
    plans, programmes and budgets for the Division
  • Monitor and evaluate performance management
    system in the Division
  • Provide technical advice to the ED and other stakeholders.
  • Formulate guidelines relating to export market
    information dissemination
  • Design and maintain databanks on all registered
    exporters and potential exporters
  • Design and establish a statistical information system capable of regular export
    data capture, collation analysis, storage and retrieval



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Uganda Export Promotions Board (UEPB) Director
    Trade Information job must be a Ugandan who holds an Honors Bachelor’s
    Degree in any of the following: Marketing, International Business, International
    Trade, Economics, Agriculture or IT related courses from a recognized
    degree awarding University or Institution, and Masters’ Degree in
    Marketing, International Business, or International Trade.
  • A
    minimum of eight years working experience at senior or management level
    gained from a reputable organization, (4) four years of which should be in
    private sector.
  • Extensive
    knowledge and understanding of modern information management
    approaches
  • Understanding of export marketing environment
  • Ability to effectively work with persons from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability of an effective team
    leader
  • Ability to coach and mentor
  • Extensive knowledge of intellectual property
    and branding.
