Uganda Export Promotion Board (UEPB)
which is an equal opportunities employer is a semiautonomous public agency set
up by the Uganda Export Promotion Board Act 1996 under the Ministry of Trade,
Industry and Cooperatives with the main objective of facilitating the development,
promotion and coordination of all export- related activities that lead to export
growth on a sustainable basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    jobholder will provide technical and administrative leadership
    of the Division
  • Prepare annual work plans, programmes and
    budgets for the Directorate
  • Keenly monitor and evaluate performance management system in the Directorate
  • Provide technical advice to the ED and other
    stakeholders on export marketing
  • Coordinate research activities relating to
    export market development including export promotion (buyers and sellers, organise trade fairs, expos, etc.).



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Uganda Export Promotions Board (UEPB) Director
    Export Markets Development & Promotions must be a Ugandan who holds an
    Honors Bachelors’ Degree in any of the following: Economics, Agriculture,
    Marketing, International Business, or International Trade from a
    recognized degree awarding University or Institution, and Masters’ Degree
    in Marketing, International Business, or International Trade.
  • Membership
    to a relevant Professional Body and professional qualifications in
    Marketing, Management or Logistics management will be an added advantage.
  • A
    minimum of eight years at senior or management level gained in a similar
    function from a reputable organization, (4) four years of which should be
    in private sector.
  • Broad
    knowledge and understanding of global trading environment,
    market research, and marketing
    communications
  • Proven ability of an effective team leader
  • Ability to coach and mentor
  • Have knowledge of intellectual property and
    branding.
