About US:
Uganda Women’s Effort to Save
Orphans (UWESO) is a national non-government organization which was founded in
1986 by Ugandan mothers committed to providing relief aid to needy children
left parentless by the civil turbulence of the mid-1980’s and the HIV/AIDS
pandemic.
About AROC Project:
With support from the United
Arab Emirates, UWESO is implementing the AROC project (Advancing Rights &
Opportunities for Vulnerable Children). The project aims at reducing
vulnerability among children who have limited access to education because of
their socio economic conditions partly caused by their migrant nature and
refugee status.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    jobholder will ensure implementation of projects in the region according
    to donor specifications, and organization policies and procedures.
  • Ensure
    periodic reporting on the progress of various activities in the region.
  • Conduct
    advocacy and resource mobilisation activities in order to increase support
    to the organisation in improving the quality of service of the projects
  • Ensure
    implementation of projects according to set targets and specifications



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant for the UWESO Project Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Business
    Administration or any other related field.
  • Two
    years’ relevant experience in Community Development, Rural Finance /VSLA
    Promotion or Enterprise Development,
  • Computer
    literacy skills
  • Monitoring
    & Evaluation skills
  • Training
    and supervisory skills
  • Business
    Management skills
  • Team
    Player with good people’s skills
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge
    of the local languages spoken & the socio-economic environment.
  • Ability
    and willingness to ride a motorcycle (Valid riding permit required )
  • Personal
    integrity
  • Knowledge
    of VSLA Methodology is an added advantage
  • Adhere
    to child protection safe guarding policy
  • Age: Above 30 years
