local partners to provide lasting solutions to poverty, injustice and human
suffering. LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s vulnerability, supporting them
to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their
own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in
Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.
Job Summary: The Project
Manager will establish and manage monitoring and evaluation framework and
follow-up on critical management and planning issues of the assigned project to
ensure effective and timely project execution;
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and programmatic
    leadership to the project team to ensure quality implementation of the
    project activities and achievement of objectives;
  • The jobholder will prepare periodic
    project work plans, procurement plans and budget tracking tools in
    conjunction with other project participants to ensure appropriate and
    timely utilization of project resources;
  • Offer support to the project team in all
    areas necessary for the successful execution of its duties.
  • Review the quality of work and performance
    of the team on a regular basis to guarantee that it meets the project
    standards and donor requirements;
  • Ensure community participation and
    cooperation with other likeminded partners including relevant district
    local governments departments and other non-governmental organizations;
  • Keenly monitor cash flow projections and
    report actual cash flow and variance to sub program manager on a regular
    basis (monthly and quarterly);
  • Plan, organize and participate in project
    meetings, workshops, seminars, and stakeholder events;



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Lutheran World
    Relief (LWR) Project Manager career opportunity should hold a Masters’
    degree in Business Management/Administration, Agribusiness or a closely
    related field;
  • Five years of related experience in
    agribusiness development, agricultural value chain, agri-business
    linkages, cooperative business, business incubation and/or in promoting
    micro and small businesses in the context of agricultural and rural
    development;
  • Strong budget management and financial
    analysis skills including proficiency in Excel;
  • Specific qualifications needed;
  • Previous experience in developing
    agribusiness and agri-trade strategies;
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to
    provide advice on policy, regulatory, legal and technical issues related
    to Micro and Small businesses in the agriculture sector and value chains;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in
    applying and using participatory methods;
  • Competence and adequate experience in the
    use of qualitative and/or quantitative methods of data collection and
    analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex
    qualitative and quantitative data, and to present findings and
    recommendations in a clear and concise way;
  • Good team player with excellent inter-personal
    communication skills, including experience of facilitation, mentoring and
    presentation;
  • Previous experience in managing EU funded
    projects highly desirable;
  • Previous experience in successfully
    implementing gender-integrated projects highly desirable
