focus countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America; and projects in more than 25

headquartered in The Netherlands.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Tasked with promoting and implementing the
Agenda for Change Principles1 and activities in Rwenzori region
·        
Providing support in all the processes related
to the development and implementation of WASH MoUs with District Local
Governments
·        
Supporting District Local Governments to develop
and implement District WASH Investment plans
·        
In charge of building and managing Regional and
District Partnership with Key government agencies and CSOs in the Rwenzori
region to implement various IRC WASH projects
·        
Strengthening the district hand pump mechanics
associations and community structures for effective WASH service delivery.
·        
Supporting the development of market based
approaches for delivering Water and Sanitation services
·        
Working with the Rwenzori WASH Forum to
facilitate multi stakeholder learning
·        
Implementing service monitoring activities
including work on the WASH service Level monitoring; WASH budget tracking and
expenditure studies
·        
Documenting and sharing WASH best practices and
innovations
·        
Supporting IRC stakeholders in the region and
district to adopt and implement appropriate and sustainable WASH technologies ,
models and approaches.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate for the IRC Regional Wash Officer job opportunity should preferably hold a post graduate training
in Environmental science, Civil/ Water engineering, Social Sciences and
Business studies.
·        
Additional
training in local governance, participatory planning and budgeting, gender and
development
·        
A minimum of five years professional working experience in a the Water and
Environment sector
·        
Previous experience in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector
·        
Experience
with development programmes (esp. participatory processes, community based
programmes, poverty reduction programmes)
·        
Previous
exposure and experience in working with an international
multi-disciplinary team
