most influential media house, operating The Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor and
Sunday Monitor newspapers, 93.3KFM, 90.4 Dembe FM, Nation Couriers and the
Monitor Business Directory.
Job Summary: The News Anchor
will link the audience with newsmakers in order for KFM to gain and increase
its credibility and grow the audience by writing stories and presenting news
bulletins in a captivating manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Takes instructions and briefs from the News
Editor on stories to be covered and aired
·        
Plays the roles of News Reporter and Producer
·        
Edits/translates stories to ensure that they
conform to journalistic ethics, editorial objectives and house style
·        
Rehearses the bulletins to ensure proper
pronunciations of words and names of people and places
·        
Presents news bulletins, commentaries and
prepares and conducts live and or recorded interviews of guests and reporters
·        
Touches base with newsmakers, aggrieved parties,
opinion leaders to give them an opportunity to be heard
·        
Researches on various topical issues before
conducting news interviews
·        
And any other duties assigned by management



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The News Anchor should hold a Diploma/ Bachelor
of degree in Journalism/ Mass Communication from an accredited University
·        
Any Professional Postgraduate Diploma would be
an added advantage
·        
A minimum of two to three years’ experience in
Media
·        
Previous experience in a media related industry
will be required.
·        
Keep abreast with Current affairs for both local
and global happenings
·        
Very strong mastery of the English language
·        
Excellent communication skills
·        
Ability to hold effective interviews
·        
High standard of Integrity
·        
Ability to follow through issues to closure
·        
Planning and Organization skills
·        
Initiative,
·        
Eloquent
