About aBi:
The Agricultural Business Initiative (aBi) Trust is supporting
agribusiness development in the private sector to achieve the objective of the
Government of Uganda’s Competitiveness and Investment Climate Strategy (CICS).
The Trust is a multi-donor entity jointly founded by the Governments of Denmark
and Uganda. The mandate of aBi Trust is to support the private sector actors to
increase their contribution to the agricultural sector by increasing land and
labour productivity, and market competitiveness thereby contributing to poverty
reduction through economic growth, wealth, and employment creation.
Job Summary: The Internal
Auditor will support aBi to accomplish its objectives through providing
assurance on the aBi’s risk management, internal controls and governance
processes in line with the approved internal audit
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Actively contribute to the development of aBi’s
Internal Audit Annual plan by identifying and assessing risks over key aBi
operations.
·        
Carry out risk-based audits/investigations on
aBi operations including projects
·        
Conduct periodic internal audit follow up within
the organisation to ensure that satisfactory resolution of prior internal audit
findings are tracked and reoccurrence of findings is minimised.
·        
Provide Advisory and consulting services that
add value and improve aBi’s operations.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor
of Commerce (Accounting)  or Business
Administration ( Accounting); Bachelor of Science Accounting or any other
related course
·        
Professional qualification and membership to
professional bodies such as ACCA/ ICPAU /IIA
·        
At least five years of auditing experience
·        
Knowledge and experience with international
accounting and auditing standards including IPSAS
·        
Broad knowledge and understanding of relevant
Ugandan Laws
·        
Excellent writing and reporting skills
·        
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
·        
Ability to audit in an automated environment
·        
Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in MS Office
