University Research Co., LLC (URC) is implementing the USAID Regional
Health Integration to Enhance Health Services in East Central Uganda Project
(USAID/Uganda RHITES-EC) whose aim is to support the implementation of a
comprehensive integrated investment in regional
health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. The five-year
project targets 11 districts in East Central Uganda with an estimated total
population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of
quality health, nutrition, HIV / AIDS and child development services.

Job Summary: The Quality
Improvement Officer will work closely with the project’s technical team and
district health teams to design, effectively implement, document and report
Quality Improvement activities, as per the National QI Framework and Strategic
Plan. He/she will also work with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and relevant
stakeholders to improve the quality of health care services in target
districts.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

Identify and address QI capacity building needs
for the District Quality improvement teams, HSD, Facility and Work improvement
teams to promote the application of the 5S-CQI model for improvement across
health interventions.

Support District Quality Improvement Teams to
coordinate, facilitate and track monthly facility performance review and
quality improvement activities, in close collaboration with the respective
District Programme Officers.

Support the District Quality Improvement
Committees to conduct quarterly integrated QI coaching and mentorship
activities for the health facilities in the respective clusters based on

implementation and monitoring of improvement collaboratives for the project’s

Provide support for reporting of QI activities

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

The applicants for the USAID RHITES-EC Quality
Improvement Officer job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine,
Midwifery or Nursing. Possession of a Master’s Degree in public health or
related field will be an added advantage.

At least two years’ experience in implementing
Quality Improvement approaches and tools providing support to facility-based

health programming gained through serving within a government institution or
