About Us:
The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) is an
umbrella organization promoting the rights of Persons with disabilities in
Uganda with the vision of having ‘Dignity for every person with disability.’
NUDIPU exists to advocate for the rights of PWDs in a unified voice for
improved livelihoods.
Job Summary: The Programme
Officer will implement a program aimed at influencing disability inclusive
planning and budgeting in health and education sectors.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and
    coordination of the project implementation
  • Develop and institute project management
    systems and procedures and plans
  • Prepare quarterly and annual work plans
    and budgets for the project
  • Prepare and submit periodic progress
    reports to the stakeholders on programme implementation and performance
  • Ensure proper and timely accountability
    for all resources under the programme
  • Promote disability inclusive planning and
    budgeting in health and education sectors
  • Establish a strong platform for engagement
    of different stakeholders on health and education via media.
  • Ensure participation
    of DPOs, PWD leaders and Local Governments, in planning and budget debates
    through media.
  • Support fundraising efforts of the
    organisation.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the NUDIPU
    Programme Officer job placement must hold an honors bachelor’s degree
    Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences or Social Works and Social
    Administration or Community Adult Education or development studies and or
    any other related humanities.
  • Possession of a Master’s degree in social
    sciences, economic policy and planning, development studies, project
    planning and management from recognized university is added advantage.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant
    experience in working with CSOs
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of
    social development sector and strategic management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational
    and planning skills.
  • Computer literacy skills
