The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian
organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more
dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for
the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter,
education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and
hygiene sectors.
Job Summary: The Project
Officer Education is primarily responsible for the monitoring of Education
Project Activities in Imvepe.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:   
  • Routinely monitor implementation of
    Education activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor
    requirements
  • The jobholder will actively engage and
    inform communities and community leaders about the activities
  • Break down the annual operational plans
    into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
  • Coordinate with relevant partners
  • Ensure that procurement, development and
    distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to
    procedures
  • Mentor and train the team
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and
    other documents as required
  • Investigate and facilitate introduction of
    new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of
    the activities



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee
    Council (NRC) Project Officer Education job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences or Social Work,
    Community Psychology or related qualification
  • At least three years experience as an Education
    Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Three years previous experience from
    working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the
    position’s responsibilities
  • Extensive knowledge about own manager
    skills/profile
  • Managing resources and achieving results
  • Handling insecure environments
  • Working with people
  • Coping with change
