NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.

Job Summary: The Project Officer Education is primarily responsible for the monitoring of Education Project Activities in Imvepe.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • Routinely monitor implementation of Education activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements
  • The jobholder will actively engage and inform communities and community leaders about the activities
  • Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
  • Coordinate with relevant partners
  • Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
  • Mentor and train the team
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required
  • Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Project Officer Education job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences or Social Work, Community Psychology or related qualification
  • At least three years experience as an Education Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Three years previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Extensive knowledge about own manager skills/profile
  • Managing resources and achieving results
  • Handling insecure environments
  • Working with people
  • Coping with change
