in 2003 moved the organisation’s headquarters to Kenya. AAH-I now works with
refugees, host communities and other marginalized and vulnerable groups in
Kenya, Uganda, Somalia and South Sudan, where it operates across a range of
sectors that seek to bridge relief to development.
Job Summary: The Logistics
Officer is responsible for managing the maintenance and, repair of all AAH
fleet; recording all AAHU fuel supplies from the pump and in store; and for
supervising all activities undertaken by Driver/Mechanics, Fuel and stores
clerk at the Settlement Office. The incumbent works to ensure up to date stores
records, inventories, stock levels are maintained. She will oversee the proper
M&R of the warehousing and with Driver/mechanics to ensure timely &
professional delivery of service by AAH-U staff.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Coordinate the programme fleet through
    planning for organized staff movements in the fields and outside the
    settlements to avoid misuse, attain economy of scales and ensure
    accountability in the use of fuel.
  • The incumbent will plan for insurance,
    periodic maintenance and repair of office equipment, vehicles,
    motorcycles, generators and machinery in line with user manual and
    operator license guidelines.
  • Allocate and supervise work of Drivers,
    Fuel Clerk, Store Keeper and Driver/mechanics to ensure professional and
    timely accomplishment of tasks.
  • Ensure logistical documents such as NEP
    lists, Vehicle authorization and Fuel requisitions submitted to the Area
    Manager for signing are correct and complete.
  • Coordinate the flow of logistical
    information between the project officers, departmental staff and staff in
    the country offices, and track programme documents.
  • The incumbent will also regularly update records
    of the workshop activities, requisitions and orders of spare parts, ensure
    mechanics maintain safety of all workshop tools, equipment and spares.
  • Maintain inventory of stationary and
    office supplies, maintain and reconcile the fuel stock cards and balances
    on a daily basis and conduct stock taking exercises for all fuel and
    lubricants weekly, monthly and on a quarterly basis.
  • Plan for fuel utilization/issuance and
    make projected requirements for the execution of programme activities by
    providing information on a monthly basis on stock levels.
  • Supervise issuance of all types of fuel
    and lubricants in line with laid down policies and procedures and conduct
    spot checks and verification on fuel and lubricants utilization both
    physically and on the registers on a routine basis.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on
    supply stock levels and submit them to the relevant offices through the
    Area Manager’s office when required in line with AAH reporting guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties as may be
    assigned by the immediate supervisor or management.



Key Result Areas:
  • All staff and programme movements planned

    updated and maintained weekly, monthly and quarterly.
  • Plan for fuel utilization/issuance and
    projected monthly stock requirements for the execution of programme
    activities developed and implemented.
  • Periodic reports on supply stock levels
    prepared and submitted in line with AAH reporting guidelines
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Logistics
    Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Stores
    Management, Warehousing or Fleet Management, logistics or a related
    qualification from a recognised institution of higher learning
  • At least three years’ experience in
    Logistics Management.
  • Ability to monitor procedures and
    translate these for implementation.
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Hold a valid driving/ or riding license
    with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum
    supervision and within a team.
  • Ability to coach and develop staff
  • Ability to manage competing tasks,
    prioritise and produce high level output consistently
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and
    written
  • Good reporting skills
