provides modern medical care. Mengo Hospital provides comprehensive care
including radiology, obstetrics, dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery.
Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides critical training and education to health
professionals through its various programs in midwifery and nursing, health
sciences, and laboratory technology. Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated
research and development team that works to find new solutions to health issues
in Uganda.
Tutor will provide formal classroom and clinical teaching/coaching to students
according to guidelines provided by the National Curriculum framework and educational
needs, abilities and help in the attainment of the potential of individual
students entrusted to his/her care.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will adopt and work towards
the implementation of the school development plan. - Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans
- Teach and train students in Medical
Laboratory disciplines - Set, administer and mark students’ course
work assignments, revision tests and semester examinations - Actively participate in planning and
implementing school co-curricular and extra-curricular activities - Supervise and support students while on
practical skills training, research and study visits - Supervise students’ research as assigned
by the school - Nurture and maintain students’ discipline
- Participate in school meetings
constructively - Participate in the selection of new
student entrants in the school - Advise the School Management on matters
pertaining to improving and developing the school and school performance
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Laboratory
Tutor job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
Medical Laboratory Technology plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Health
Tutorship /Diploma in Health Tutorship OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical
Education plus a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology - Ability to facilitate learners’ problem
based learning - Good facilitation/presentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
(especially Excel and Word) - Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills - Good organizational abilities with
technical proficiency and capacity to motivate learners - Good report writing and problem-solving
skills
