About Us:
Tugende is a for-profit social enterprise that helps motorcycle taxi
drivers in Uganda own their own motorcycles via a fair, transparent
lease-to-own model instead of renting indefinitely. Ownership significantly
increases income, job security and road safety. Across Uganda and many other
emerging markets, motorcycles help drive the economy, mitigate traffic jams and
bad roads, and offer hundreds of thousands of jobs for those with little formal
education. Tugende is proving that millions of self-employed entrepreneurs can
receive credit to own the equipment they use to provide for their families,
even without credit histories, collateral, and in industries considered high
risk by traditional lenders. We currently serve over 3,862 customers in
Kampala, Mbarara, Jinja, and Mbale. We plan to expand to at least 10 locations
in Uganda over the next 1-2 years and then to regional neighbours which may
include Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan.
Job Summary: The Junior Data
Quality Analyst will primarily ensure that data loaded/entered into the
database meets the standards of Tugende limited. The job holder shall be part
of the Data and Systems Department and reports directly to Data Analyst.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:   
  • Tasked with improving data quality and
    performance levels in Tugende limited.
  • Providing a high level of data quality
    awareness across multiple branches and departments of Tugende
  • Proactively improving the quality of
    salesforce reporting and reports used by Tugende
  • Review data entered into the database for
    accuracy
  • Keenly review referential and historical
    integrity issues of Tugende database.
  • Perform data mining and quality data
    extraction exercises
  • Assist to perform data analysis and
    interpretation of data using statistical techniques
  • Perform any other related duties as may be
    assigned by the Data Analyst.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant for the Tugende Junior Data
    Quality Analyst job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor of Science
    in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management,
    Statistics or other related technical subject
  • Proven passion for the data quality
    discipline
  • Good interpersonal skills i.e. Ability to
    relate well with the other work-mates
  • Extremely meticulous in approach to work
    i.e. taking or showing extreme care about work
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge regarding data models,
    database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical
    packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
  • Analytical knowledge with the ability to
    collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information
    with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work with little or no
    supervision is desirable
  • Talent for quick learning of new tasks
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving
    skills
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Interest at queries, report writing and
    presenting findings in Salesforce, Power bi, Microsoft office etc is
    desired
  • Prior knowledge of reporting packages
    (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (Apex and python)
    is an added advantage
