Job Summary: The Manager,
Department of Planning, Investment and Resource Mobilisation is responsible for
providing guidance to the strategic planning and development of the University.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Initiate and coordinate the preparation
    and production of long and short term corporate plans
  • Set budget priorities and assess the
    budget proposals for their coherence with the strategic goals of the
    University
  • Generate planning data/information/reports
    to support decision making by University Management
  • The incumbent will ensure that the
    University has a comprehensive and coherent resource mobilization strategy
  • Ensure that the University’s academic
    units adhere to enrolment ceilings
  • Initiate and coordinate organizational
    development activities
  • Ensure effective implementation of the
    University programs and projects
  • Ensure that the University has a national
    and international marketing strategy
  • Ensure that the University undertakes
    performance reporting to her stakeholders on time
  • Ensure that information flowing in from
    all administrative units is collate, processed, stored and redistributed
    to management in a form that guides quick decision making
  • Ensure that diagnostic studies are
    regularly carried out to enable the University have a picture of her
    internal and external efficiency and the level of access to her services
    and products
  • Ensure that the implementation of Donor
    funded projects is effectively coordinated
  • Keenly monitor the implementation of
    University programs to ensure that programs/projects are implemented
    according to plan
  • Work closely with key Government
    Authorities and Agencies to ensure proper execution of the University
    mandate in relation to the national development agenda
  • Supervise and coach subordinates in the
    department
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the
    University Bursar
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s
    degree in Business Administration or in any of the following fields:
    Economics, Commerce or Statistics
  • At least eight years of working
    experience, four of which should be at senior level in a reputable
    Organisation.
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Excellent analytical ability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Very good tactical and strategic planning
    skills
  • Ability to organize, including time
    management skills and the ability to complete tasks efficiently
  • Proficient oral and written communication
    skills
  • Team building and conflict management
    skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Age: Below 50 years
