Job Summary: The Head
Workplace Banking will interprete and communicate overall strategy WPB strategy
into implementable short term steps to support all the segments in personal
markets. The incumbent will also ensure that strategic directive is translated
into feasible sales and relationship management support to meet business goals.
The jobholder will provide management support together with the necessary tools
to the WPB managers and consultants in order to achieve business objectives
across all segments, functional areas and channels.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
Sales and Business Management:
  • Agree targets and take accountability for
    the overall achievement of performance objectives for WPB unit in terms of
    sales growth, income contribution and manage impairment, employee
    satisfaction and customer experience.
  • Cascade sales targets and reach an
    agreement with individual WPB managers and consultants.
  • Provide clear direction to WPB
    relationship managers and consultants to meet business objectives
  • Develop and ensure implementation and
    review methods of improving operational efficiency within WPB company
    empanelment process and relationship management.
  • Work with country marketing to produce
    annual marketing plans to support WPB
  • Occasionally contact and visit key WPB
    relationships to resolve particular issues or to support sales initiatives
  • Recognise Work Place Banking opportunities
    in the market and devise plans on how to convert such opportunities into
    actual Sales.
  • Lead and maintain a visible and active
    presence in the Local market to establish new relationships and to support
    existing relationships.
Operational Administration:
  • Support the WPB team by providing and
    ensuring that the necessary tolls (proxima, banners, promotional items and
    marketing materials) are provided for effective execution of WPB
    objectives.
  • Obtain Competitor information in instances
    where they could threaten WPB offering
  • Analyze daily activity call reports and
    sales results from managers and consultants.
People Management:
  • Build and motivate a high performing team
    committed to achieving consistently high levels of success
  • Develop and agree individual and team
    performance objectives and measures
  • Conduct performance appraisals and manage
    the staff training and development plan for direct reports.
  • Provide on going coaching and feedback
  • Manage succession, leave and rotation
    programmes
  • Drive employment equity philosophy within
    the team.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The Stanbic Bank Head Workplace Banking
    career opportunity should hold a business degree (e.g. B.Comm majoring in
    marketing) would be an advantage
  • A minimum of eight years of banking
    experience, three of them in a leadership role with exposure to sales.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of
    the Personal Banking market to source the best possible Sales leads
  • Broad knowledge of the product range,
    including pricing options, features and benefits
  • General banking experience.
  • Exposure to branch sales and credit
    functions in a Retail Banking environment.
  • Proven sales track record in the financial
    services industry.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of
    linkages between products and services.
  • Sound knowledge of the Mobile Banking
    value proposition and delivery strategy.
  • Knowledge of customer profiles and
    business cycles.
  • Understanding of risk management
    principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procedures
    and application of the Group Reference Guide.
  • Basic knowledge of competitor products.
