InterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian
national organization established in 1988, and duly registered with the NGO
Board and NGO Forum. IAU is actively involved in programs geared towards the
protection and improvement of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and
rural areas in Uganda and in the Great Lakes Region. InterAid Uganda is focused
on its thematic areas of Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food
Security, Health (HIV&AIDS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health),
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management and
good Management and Governance systems.
Job Summary: The Legal
Advocate will be responsible for the Programme Legal Desk and ensure
coordination and implementation of legal program planned activities to promote
equal access to justice for Persons of Concern.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the InterAid
    Uganda Limited (IAU) Legal Advocate job opportunity should preferably hold
    a Bachelor’s Degree of Legal Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution.
  • Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in
    Legal Practice (PGDLP) is mandatory
  • The applicant should be enrolled with the
    High Court.
  • At least two years’ experience in Refugee
    and Human Rights will be an added advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of the refugee laws in
    Uganda.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of court
    related processes.
  • Ability to travel to different courts and
    prisons
  • Good knowledge in protection of human
    rights.
  • Good team player.
  • Highly sociable.
  • High degree of integrity
