Mildmay Uganda is a faith- based local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) offering Comprehensive HIV Care & treatment, Training, Research & General Medical Services; also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda.
Job Summary: The Clinical Systems
Strengthening Specialist will provide technical and programmatic oversight and
direction in Clinical Systems Strengthening at district, facility and community
levels including strategic planning and health care delivery for HIV prevention
care and treatment through enhanced Institutional capacity and accountability
for the HIV response.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Mildmay Regional
    Manager career opportunity must hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery
    Degree, plus Masters’ Degree in a health related field.
  • Hold a valid practicing license.
  • At least five years’ experience in managing
    comprehensive and complex technical assistance in HIV or other health
    programs
  • Five years’ experience in clinical work
    with emphasis on HIV management and demonstrable experience coordinating
    similar projects involving, management of multi-million dollar
    budgets/portfolios as well as proven record of aligning diverse
    multi-level teams with project mission and vision.
  • Possess technical proficiency in
    HIV/Infectious Diseases program design, implementation, and M&E, plus
    demonstrable subject matter expertise in HIV management, TB management,
    Health Service delivery or Health Systems Strengthening.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written)
    skills
  • Good teaching/presentation skills;
  • Highly analytical and good decision making
    skills;
  • Good problem solving skills;
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
    in various MS office packages.
  • Show commitment to quality and excellence,
    and holding the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Highly flexible and reliable
  • Evidence of a non-judgemental approach
    regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality and lifestyle is critical.
