Our instructors are highly skilled, using the training materials and aids that are useful for making learning easier, enjoyable and interactive. At Prestige Driving School, we teach and train our learners how to become the safe drivers of tomorrow. With the backing of our competent staff, we aim at providing the highest level of driver training in Uganda, with the objective of equipping learners with defensive driving skills.

Job Summary: The Operations Manager will manage the operations of the company at the branch level ensuring excellence and uniformity in service delivery across all our branches, and meeting customer expectations and needs. The person will be reporting to the General Manager and serving as a member of the management team. This position primary responsibility is to ensure branch efficiency, effectiveness and standardization across all our branches

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • Tasked with ensuring highest level of customer care exercised by both the administrator and the instructor in all our branches
  • Ensure that all branches are opened on time and closed on time
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organization & mission, specifically support better management reporting and information flow
  • Supervise both branch administrator and instructor
  • Ensure cleanliness of all the branch premises and all the company training vehicles
  • Promote and protect the company image and a corporate standard across all our branches
  • Work closely with other managers and feeding them with necessary information required for smooth running of the business
  • Ensure that the company is compliant with the different authorities in the country for smooth running of the business,  (ensuring all branches have a Trading license, an operational Driving school license, and all our instructors have acquired an instructor’s license from the Licensing Board
  • Responsible for training and development of the branch administrator and instructor and also in charge of placing the different staff at our different locations
  • Ensure consistent, quality service is continuously given to our clients across all our branches
  • Handle clients’ complaints on time and come up with satisfying solutions for that client
  • Always plan with the HR for branch placement for new staff and always be ready to have a replacement to fill in the gap in case of absenteeism of staff so as to ensure continued branch operations
  • Management of office equipment and other assets at the branch level
  • Render support in the recruitment, appointment of new branch administrators and instructors, and to be responsible for their induction, training and appraisal

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate for the Prestige Driving School Operations Manager job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration or Accounting or Financial Management or equivalent qualifications
  • Professional course in the related field will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in a managerial position and in a very busy organization
  • Applicant should be highly organized with good attention to detail
  • The person should have experience, knowledge and understanding of facilities of management
  • Previous experience in managing a team
  • The applicant should provide evidence of high performance in previous roles
  • The applicant should have experience of working effectively with people from diverse back grounds
  • The applicant should be able to make professional and managerial and organization decisions based on informed judgments
  • One should be able to acknowledge excellence and challenge poor performances with teams he will be managing
  • Proven ability to plan and how to identify priorities, critical activities and available resources
  • One should have the ability to consistently demonstrate high level of job performance
  • One should have the ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet dead lines
  • Ability to promote the school’s reputation and carry out appropriately and professionally at all times
