About Us:
The Surveyors’ Registration Board (SRB) of Uganda is a body corporate,
established under Chapter 275, of the Surveyors Registration Act 1974. The major
function of the board is to regulate and control the profession of surveyors
and the activities of registered surveyors within Uganda, and to advise the
Government in relation to those functions.
Job Summary: The Registrar –
Surveyors Registration Board will act the chief administrative officer of the
Board, responsible for managing in accordance with the Act, the day-to-day
operations and administration of the Board. The incumbent will undertake and
assist with the delivery of statutory and non-statutory activities of the
registrar. A Registrar will not be a member of the Board, although he/she will
contribute to deliberations of the Board.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The jobholder will keep and maintain a
    register of surveyors, in accordance with the Surveyors Registration Act.
  • The incumbent will also receive, check and
    present to the Board all applications submitted for registration.
  • Act as a secretary to the board; and
    therefore perform associated duties such as give notice for meetings, prepare
    and attend meetings, and record minutes of proceedings, and follow up on
    action points of the meetings
  • Significantly contribute to the
    deliberations of the meetings of the board, but shall not have a right to
    vote
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy and security
    of all information and records pertaining to the board and surveyors
  • The registrar shall, at the financial
    year, prepare a report on the activities of the board during that
    financial year and submit that report to the chairperson undertake all
    administrative responsibilities such as communicating to members required
    to attend Board meetings, advising the Board on its obligations with its
    members and other parties and maintaining performance records of all the
    registered surveyors.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by
    the board from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a basic
    degree + professional certificate in the fields of finance and accounting,
    law, administration)
  • At least five years of relevant working
    experience in administration, senior management level or similar position
    in a public office.
  • High moral character and Integrity
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the
    Surveying Profession, more especially the law governing surveying practice
    In Uganda.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to
    Influence
  • Highly self-motivated and strategic
    thinker
  • Excellent written and oral communication
    and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving
    skills
  • Initiative and dependability.
