Job Summary: The Project
Officer WASH and Livelihoods will take lead the successful implementation of
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions to contribute to women and
youth livelihood outcomes in communities. Specifically the Project Officer will
take lead implementation of WASH and livelihood projects at community levels
through urban Community Led Sanitation and economic reuse of waste, support
community capacity building in WASH and livelihood, participate in mobilization
of resources for project growth and ensure implementation is done in close
collaboration with other Amref Health Africa in Uganda staff, the local
community, Local government and other relevant agencies.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the AMREF Project
    Officer Wash and Livelihoods career opportunity must hold a basic degree
    in Environmental Health sciences, Development Studies, Social work and
    social administration or their equivalent. Advanced training in Public
    Health or marketing will be an added advantage.
  • At least two years’ experience in WASH and
    livelihood related projects at peri-urban community level.
  • Previous exposure and experience in
    project design, proposal writing, needs assessments, surveys, and
    information management.
  • Prior international NGO experience
