Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an International Humanitarian NGO. For
over thirty years, ACF  has been
implementing Food Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene programs in the Lango, Acholi, West Nile and Karamoja regions in
Uganda.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
Programming:
  • Provide direct oversight and leadership of
    the project cycle management
  • Tasked with the implementation of an
    integrating nutrition sensitive FSL/WASH project
  • Ensuring that technical guideline and
    standard set by Action Against Hunger are applied in all the integrated
    sectors.
  • Putting in place and monitoring the system
    of data collection concerning the different activities of the project as a
    basis for the evaluation and furtherance of the programme
Budget Management and Accountability:
  • Supervise and consolidate the procurement
    requests (PRs) for all integrated components.
  • Ensure full compliance with financial and
    logistics guidelines in all project accountabilities/transactions
Staffing & Staff Support:
  • Participate in the recruitment of staff in
    consultation with the Field Coordinator.
  • Supervising all the staff recruited by the
    project
  • Conduct regular Performance appraisal for
    the staffs supervised.
  • Render technical support, guidance and
    closely following up the work of the Assistant Programme (WASH).
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly,
    quarterly, final & annual internal & donor reports as per the set
    guidelines.
  • Compile a regular summary of indicators
    for his/her programme (APR) to enhance indicator tracking and information
    sharing
Representation:
  • Represent Action Against Hunger in various
    fora including Technical Sector working groups, planning meetings, joint
    Monitoring and other platforms and competently explain Action Against
    hunger’s vision, mission, objectives, operations, and any other matter as
    need may be
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Action Against
    Hunger (ACF) Program Manager (Integrated FSL/WASH) job opportunity should
    preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree (honors) in Agribusiness, Agriculture,
    Agroforestry, Soil & water conservation, Environmental Science, or any
    other relevant field.
  • A minimum of five years of hands-on
    experience in implementation of successful integrated nutrition sensitive
    FSL/WASH projects may be considered.
  • Previous work with a busy multi-sectoral
    setting/programming is an asset.
  • Previous work in a refugee setting is
    desirable.
  • Strong communication skills (written and
    oral) in English
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and
    make decisions independently
  • Extremely flexible with the ability to
    cope with stressful situations
  • Excellent reporting skills with good oral
    and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the local language is an
    added advantage
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
