Job Summary: The Officer,
Bancassurance will analyse and evaluate the Bancassurance products, offerings
and customers in order to provide input into product development and
collaborate with Manager, Bancassurance to grow the profitability of the
Bancassurance portfolio within PBB Uganda, through analysis of customer needs
and tailoring of appropriate insurance products and services.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Keenly analyse and evaluate the Bank’s
    Bancassurance products and offerings versus the demands of the Market and
    provide input and recommendations to improve offerings
  • Partner with Channels to position
    Bancassurance personal banking products in line with the overall bank
    strategy and customer value proposition embedding into the core banking
    product or cross sold where appropriate
  • Plan and co-ordinate system requirements,
    system developments and changes to ensure that business requirements are
    met and all developments are done in accordance with the overall product
    plan
  • Regularly analyse
    feasibility/profitability and market demand in order to provide input into
    product development and develop product plan for any new product
    offerings; and to ensure that any new product addresses specific segment
    customer needs tailoring where required
  • Map end-to-end processes, i.e. this
    applies to the value chain ranging from new business to query management,
    customer fulfilment and reporting and make sure that all product
    information is available on GRG.
  • Work closely with sales teams and support
    units to seek sales growth and business improvement opportunities and
    ensure sustainable growth for each insurance product
  • Build and maintain a sound relationship
    with segment heads and product managers to ensure early identification of
    insurance opportunity in markets which they currently and or anticipate
    operating in, so as to add value to the overall customer value
    proposition, enhance NIR and maximise risk mitigation.
  • Partner with Learning and Development to
    identify training gaps and assist with on the job training/coaching of
    sales and front office staff on Bancassurance products where needed
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant for the Stanbic Bank Officer,
    Bancassurance job opportunity should hold a First Degree in a relevant
    field from a recognised university
  • Other qualifications: certifications or
    professional memberships, Associateship with Chartered Insurance
    Institute.
  • At least three to four years’ experience
    in Life and short term insurance underwriting and / or broking
  • Previous experience in Life and short term
    sales and marketing will be an added advantage
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of
    the benefits and compensation landscape and ability to transact and manage
    the process.
  • Effective Business Communication skills
  • Proven ability to analyse customer needs
    by engaging with them, analysing their business objectives and their
    financial position.
  • Product Knowledge
