Job Summary: The
Complementary Interventions Administrator coordinates with Church Partner
Programs in the development and implementation of a Complementary Intervention
component in the core ministries. The incumbent must be a subject matter expert
in this field and will be required to identify, recommend and implement
strategies that will support the complementary interventions to achieve
programmatic outcomes. Administers Complementary Intervention (CIV) processes
and information and fosters ongoing improvement of the quality of proposals and
reporting. The jobholder also supports the Training and Support Arm in the
capacity building of Church Partners and staff as a subject matter expert and
group-level trainer, and coordinates Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
interventions.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus
    Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous,
    Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of
    Compassion and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Working within one’s influence, serves as
    an advocate for children around the world who live in poverty and are not
    able to speak out for themselves. This includes being informed about the
    issues of children and influencing others to care about children who are
    in need.
  • Proposes, develops and implements proposal
    gathering and prioritization process on behalf of Program Implementation.
  • Consolidates and identifies common
    patterns and needs from individual proposals.
  • Consolidates and synthesizes CIV plans and
    budgets for Program Implementation.
  • Administers CIV processes and information.
  • Ensures outgoing proposals and completion
    are accurate, complete and delivered to appropriate customers.
  • Evaluates proposals to ensure that they
    address the desired standards and outcomes.
  • Ensures proposals are well written and
    accurately translated.
  • Keenly tracks all CIV data, including
    budget variances, reporting timeliness etc.
  • Provides information to management to
    promote equitable use of benefits.
  • Manages rollout, implementation and
    maintenance of new CIV systems.
  • Fosters ongoing improvement of the quality
    of proposals and reporting.
  • Provide feedback to management about the
    quality of proposed CIV activities.
  • Recommends solutions for intervention
    activities. Captures learning in completion reporting.
  • Send feedback to Partnership Facilitator’s
    and trainers on proposal and completion report quality.
  • Networks to identify and provide external
    CIV expertise and opportunities for Program Implementation.
  • Supports Program Implementation and
    especially the Training and Support Arm in the capacity building of staff
    and Church Partners
  • Offers support in the identification and
    prioritization of CIV training needs for CSP and CDSP based on process
    defined by the Training and Support Arm.
  • Supports the Training and Support Arm in
    the development of CIV training materials and content for CSP and CDSP.
  • Available to Partnership
    Facilitators,  Program
    Implementation and country office as a subject matter expert in CIV.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Degree/
    Higher level qualification in technical management field, preferably in
    Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) and Construction.
  • Possession of a post-graduate degree
    preferably in WaSH or related field with experience in international
    humanitarian or development interventions and programming.
  • At least four years’ experience of working
    in humanitarian and/or development interventions
  • Significant exposure and experience in
    project and programme management, strategy development and implementation.
  • Technical as well as strong management
    skills and able to oversee implementation.
  • The applicant must be a mature Christian,
    with evangelical Christian values, has a personal relationship with Jesus
    Christ and is above reproach in integrity and honesty.
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness in administering
    complementary Interventions grants.
  • Proven skills and experience in proposal
    and report writing.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal,
    representation, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Significant experience in Managing WaSH
    processes, construction and technical installation projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure,
    independently and with limited supervision.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze large
    amounts of information and data.
  • Ability to drive with a valid driving
    permit will be an added advantage.
  • Able to travel up to 50% and work within a
    tight work schedule.
  • Fluency in the English language.
