About US:
Naguru Teenage Information and Health Centre (NTIHC) is the pioneer program
in providing youth friendly Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH)
services in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Driver will
be responsible for driving NTIHC vehicles, transporting the Centre’s staff
and/or goods to the destinations assigned. He/she shall ensure that NTIHC cars
are maintained in good condition and in compliance with all applicable laws.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Provide safe comfortable and reliable
    transportation to NTIHC staff and goods
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and
    minor repairs where possible in order to keep the programme vehicle in
    good mechanical and functional condition
  • Prepare requisitions for vehicle
    maintenance which may include fuel, servicing, parking tickets.
  • Ensure that reasonable measures are taken
    to protect the vehicle from theft or damage
  • Ascertain that license and third party
    insurance policies are valid from time to time.
  • Ensure provision of reliable and safe
    driving for NTIHC staff, officials and visitors and safe delivery and
    collection of mail, documents and any other cargo
  • Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and
    tidy
  • Fill out a vehicle daily log sheet and
    carry out daily and weekly maintenance checks on the vehicle
  • Ensure availability of all required
    documents including, proof of ownership, valid driving license, vehicle
    insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle logs, emergency phone contacts,
    first aid kit and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the
    Finance and Administration Manager in line within project scope of work.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Uganda
    Certificate of Education (UCE)
  • A minimum of five years of driving
    experience 
  • Should have attended a defensive driving
    course with knowledge of computer experience
  • Possession of a valid driving license of
    at least class B & CM
  • Relevant training and knowledge of
    mechanics will be an added advantage
  • Self-motivation, hard work orientation and
    good team skills
  • The applicant must possess strong personal
    values and character
