Job Summary: The Senior
Officer Human Resources will support the Head of HR in the review, adaptation
and implementation of the Human Resources Management Policies, take specific
responsibility for initiation of the HR Development plan from the performance
management system and follow up of the same to ensure availability of adequate
skills mix and competencies required to deliver the organisation’s strategy. In
addition, the Senior Officer Human Resources takes responsibility for HR
administration and management of the HR Information system, practices and
policy through documentation, data entry and management in line with the HR
strategy and objectives. The Senior Officer HR may be called upon as and when
necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children
Senior Officer Human Resources job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree
in Humanities. Post graduate training in Human Resource Management is an added
advantage.
·        
At least three (3) years relevant working
experience in HR, preferably with an International NGO.
·        
Broad knowledge, understanding and proficiency
in the field of Human Resources Management and ability to work under minimum
supervision.
·        
Good understanding of national legal
requirements relating to HR, including labor laws and administrative law.
·        
Broad understanding of employment related
statutory requirements, organizational policies, systems and procedures
formulation and management.
·        
Good Interview, negotiation, listening and
counselling skills.
·        
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability
to work well in an international environment with people from diverse
backgrounds and cultures.
·        
Excellent planning, coordination and reporting
skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of
complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
·        
Previous experience in all technical areas of
logistics operations including procurement, transport/distribution,
warehousing, stock, fleet, asset, construction, communications and security
management.
·        
Past exposure and experience of working with
local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance,
Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added
advantage.
·        
Excellent analytical skills and strategic
planning abilities.
·        
Ability to establish and maintain conducive
collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
·        
Computer literacy and excellent documentation
skills are a must.
·        
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability
to work well in an international environment with people from diverse
backgrounds and cultures.
·        
Ability to intervene with crisis management or
troubleshooting as necessary.
·        
Exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
·        
Excellent time management and planning capacity.
·        
Availability and willingness to work extra hours
during times of humanitarian responses.
·        
Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach
areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
