dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for
the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter,
education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and
hygiene sectors.
Job Summary:  The Project Coordinator, Food Security is
primarily responsible for coordination of the Livelihood Project in West Nile.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Coordinate and implement the Livelihood
    project according to strategy, proposals and plans
  • Support the manager in project proposal
    writing
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor
    requirements
  • Develop annual activity and work plans
  • Mentor, train and develop Livelihood staff
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement
    and necessary changes in the activities
  • Cooperate with relevant partners and local
    authorities
  • Organize trainings for the Livelihood
    team, relevant partners and beneficiaries
  • Monthly activity/project reports and other
    reporting as required
  • Ensure proper filing of all project
    documents
  • Establishment and capacity building of
    youth groups, CBOs
  • Work closely with relevant local
    authorities, local NGOs and financial institutions
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee
    Council (NRC) Project Coordinator, Food Security should hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Social science, Agricultural / Forestry / Aquaculture
  • At least three years’ experience from
    working as Food Security and Livelihood Project Coordinator in a
    humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in
    complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the
    position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own manager skills/profile 
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of working with emergencies
  • Knowledge of the local language
  • Experience with start-up, exit or similar
