Windle Trust Uganda is Non-profit organization whose primary mission is
to equip refugees and others affected by conflict in Africa to meet the
challenges of development through providing access to education, training, and
employment opportunities by advocacy and direct programme activity. Windle
Trust Uganda has been a leading provider of access to university education,
post-primary education, and vocational training for conflict-affected Africans
since 1996. WTU works in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees (UNHCR).
Job Summary: The Senior
Human Resources Officer provides HR partnering, support and expertise to the
Windle Trust Offices throughout the employee life cycle. The role will focus on
the various HR functions which will include employee relations, benefits,
on-boarding, transfers and departures for all employees and recruiting, performance
management, and compensation for the employees. The Windle Trust Offices are
comprised of approximately 1,200 employees spread across the country. The
Senior Human Resources Officer will provide leadership and ongoing coordination
of the HR function and team for Windle Trust. In addition, this role supervises
the larger HR administrators located throughout 4 regional and field offices
across the country.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

Responsible for employee relations management
·        
The jobholder will be responsible for benefits
administration
·        
On-Boarding, Transfers and Employee Departures
·        
In charge of recruitment management
·        
Administration of Compensation
·        
WTU Staff Performance Management
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
Human Resource Management or equivalent
·        
Additional professional certification preferred
·        
At least four years of human resources practice
experience in a progressive HR department and professional services
organization or equivalent
·        
Previous experience with Ugandan labor laws
strongly preferred
·        
Strong administration and problem solving skills
·        
A high level of confidentiality
·        
Excellent interpersonal and people-facing skills
·        
Excellent communication skills, both written and
verbal
·        
Tact and diplomacy
·        
Ability to stay calm under pressure
·        
Some travel will be required
