Job Summary: The Project
Coordinator will manages the delivery of Early Childhood Care & Development
for Young Children in Pastoral Communities (EPASC) Project. The Project
Coordinator provides both operations and technical assistance and oversight on
all aspects relating to the EPAC Project in Karamoja Region. The Project
Coordinator is the regional level coordinator of EPASC Project. The job holder
provides overall programmatic and operational coordination and management
including; planning, implementation, capacity enhancement, monitoring/
evaluation and reporting both internally (within SCI) and externally (for/with
partners). The person is accountable for overall coordination and oversight
delivery of the EPASC project. The job holder may be called upon as and when
necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children
Project Coordinator job placement must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in education.
Post Graduate training in Project Management, Community Development or a
Master’s degree in any relevant field is an added advantage.
·        
A minimum of five years’ progressive experience
in programme implementation, management and development with at least three of
those years in a management position in an international development
organisation. Relevant experience supervising community based social development
projects and with International NGOs particularly those addressing children’s
rights and those applying partnership approach is desirable.
·        
Past exposure and experience of working with
local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance,
Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added
advantage.
·        
Excellent analytical skills and strategic
planning abilities.
·        
Ability to establish and maintain conducive
collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
·        
Computer literacy and excellent documentation
skills are a must.
·        
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability
to work well in an international environment with people from diverse
backgrounds and cultures.
·        
Ability to intervene with crisis management or
troubleshooting as necessary.
·        
Exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
·        
Excellent time management and planning capacity.
·        
Availability and willingness to work extra hours
during times of humanitarian responses.
·        
Experience and knowledge of working in Karamoja
and ability to speak the local language Ngakarimojong fluently is a strong
requirement.
·        
Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach
areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
