USAID Project:
RTI International is implementing
the USAID Uganda School Health and Reading Program, a five-year, USAID program
that aims to improve early grade reading outcomes for children in primary
grades and develop sustainable health education systems that support national
HIV/AIDS prevention efforts.
Job
Summary:
The Human
Resources Specialist will support the USAID Project by being responsible for
the management, administration, coordination and facilitation of HR processes
and operational support services for the Project. The HR Specialist is
responsible for transparent implementation of HR Strategies, effective delivery
of HR services and management; interprets and applies HR policies; rules and
regulations facilitate internal procedures and process solutions to a wide
spectrum of complex HR issues. The HR Specialist promotes a collaborative,
client-oriented approach and contributes to the maintenance of high staff
morale.  The incumbent will support the formulation
of solid HR strategies and implement Project human resources initiatives to
attract, develop, motivate and retain the most suitable talent throughout the
projects and facilitate successful performance in management.



Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least ten years’
    related experience or an MA degree and six years related experience or
    equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The
    applicants should be mature individuals who can call upon years of
    leadership experience in HR to lead, collaborate and support the project
    during different implementation cycles.
  • Previous
    experience of working on a US government funded program is required.
