Job Summary: The Officer, Premises & Properties
Maintenance will primarily ensure the planning, control and maintenance of the
Bank premises & related properties, in line with the set Bank objectives,
policies, procedures, guidelines and standards
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Operational
Performance:
  • Provide data and information for the
    formulation of proposals for premises works and repairs
  • In charge of the preparation of construction
    and other related drawings
  • Liaison with Local Authorities during
    implementation of bank projects
  • Preparation of bills of quantity for the
    bank’s works and repairs
  • Responsible for monitoring and supervising
    the activities of premises contractors and suppliers
  • Resolution of any issues and queries logged
    on the issue tracker.
  • Draw simple designs and plans to support
    premises works
  • In charge of the interpretation of designs and
    plans received from the Center
  • Regularly visit project sites to assess and
    report on project progress
2. Customer Service &
Stakeholder Management:
  • Build sustainable relationships with all
    relevant external stakeholders in order to secure that the premises and
    properties work proceed with the relevant support and backing
  • Identify, implement and monitor all key
    related metrics and performance measures across the team; this includes
    the delivery and monitoring of SLA’s (internal and external providers)
3. Cost Management:
  • Prepare bills of quantities as part of input
    for tenders and quotations
  • Ensure value for money in premises
    construction, maintenance and repairs
  • Provide costing information for contracts and
    other premises works
  • Actively participate in budgetary planning
    and control
  • Budget planning, monitoring and reporting on
    relevant projects
4. Project Management: Project
tracking in order to ensure quality and timely completion within approved
timelines
5. Resource Utilisation:
  • Ensures effective, efficient and optimal
    utilisation of all resources (human and capital) to be responsive to
    competitive pressures, changing market conditions, client needs and
    business strategies
  • Drive and facilitate the appropriate
    recruitment, training and development
6. Control:
  • Project plan reporting and escalation of
    issues
  • Ensure that plans are efficiently implemented
    within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Support the Premises and Properties Manager
    in the preparation of project progress reports
6. Self Development:
  • Identifies appropriate formal and
    occupational (informal) training needs and courses (internal/external) to
    develop oneself
  • Up-Skills oneself regarding new products and
    procedures through attendance of workshops/presentations and reading of
    internal and external communications
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank Manager
    Officer, Premises & Properties Maintenance j
    ob placement should hold an Honour’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Quantity surveying
  • At least three years doing similar works
  • Good understanding of construction industry
    of Uganda
  • Good knowledge of building construction and
    management.
  • Good understanding of building and plant
    operation and maintenance in accordance with the approved Bank’s
    specifications and procedures.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in MS
    projects      
  • Ability to deal with a diversity of problems
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Good Knowledge of CAD programs
  • Good knowledge of Interior designs
  • Interpretation of various construction
    drawings to prepare quotations
