Job Summary: The Relationship Manager – Corporate will be
tasked with supporting all business activities and initiatives that will
further the achievement of bank’s business objectives. He /She will also be
responsible for collaborating with several stakeholders both at Branch and Head
Office.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure high asset quality is maintained for
    all corporate facilities by proactively reviewing approved limits and
    taking remedial actions, and by deepening customer relationships
  • Building and developing new business
    opportunities by proactively marketing for Corporate lending/deposit
    opportunities from current & prospective clients
  • Serve as the Relationship Manager for
    Corporate customers and to work closely with these customers to the mutual
    benefit of both the customer and the bank & market for new business
  • Keenly review corporate files originated by
    Credit Managers, Credit Officers & Branch Managers to ensure accuracy
    of information and adequacy of proposed facilities/financing structure
    before recommending to the Credit Risk department
  • In charge of the preparation of large
    exposure files and presentation to the Credit Committee for approval
  • Interviewing, analyzing, and evaluating
    borrowers and potential borrowers with emphasis on risks (business,
    financial, market etc) and particular focus on repayment risk; making
    recommendations to Head Office Credit Committee/Corporate Credit Dept
  • Actively pursue and engage doubtful clients
    and those in arrears, so that all avenues are explored before facility
    downgrade
  • Continuously undertake local market research
    to assess competition, customer trends and any emerging developments



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Equity Bank
    Relationship Manager – Corporate job placement should hold bachelor’s degree
    in business related field from a recognized university
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in banking,
    two years of which must have been in Managing Corporate Relationships
  • Professional course in banking/credit will be
    an added advantage
  • Excellent communications and negotiation
    skills;
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Self-drive;
  • Customer centric disposition;
  • Computer literacy i.e. working knowledge of
    Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc);
  • Well-informed of the market competitive
    structure, industry practices and regulations for corporate banking with
    at least two years’ experience in the local environment.
