Uganda Limited is a digital TV service provider that has been operating in
Uganda for 5 years. We deal in both Digital Terrestrial Transmission (DTT) and
Direct To Home (DTH). Startimes is part of the Star Software technology Company
with the head office in Beijing China. We are currently operating in more than
10 African Countries which include among others Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya,
Rwanda, Guinea, Central African Republic, Burundi, Mozambique and Senegal.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • The Research Officer will navigate the
    technical processes involved in television productions, including camera,
    lighting, sound and editing
  • The incumbent will ensure that all necessary
    licenses and clearances have been obtained for the productions
  • Work effectively with the production team,
    and the crew as well as the public
  • Keenly analyze critically with a view of
    managing expectations appropriately but affordably
  • Budget for and ensure quality control of
    projects
  • Regularly conceptualize production ideas
  • Update him/herself with strong IT skills, and
    knowledge of the relevant computer packages
  • Understand & comply with regulations
    relating to liability and indemnity in shooting locations
  • Ensure the crew is able to perform
    effectively under pressure and deliver on deadlines
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The Research Officer should be a Graduate or
    equivalent in a relevant field
  • At least three years’ experience in TV video
    productions
  • Hands-on skills in lighting, camera work,
    directing and editing
  • Impressive creative skills
  • Knowledge & respect the requirements of
    the relevant health & safety legislation & procedures
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of scripts,
    budgeting and scheduling
  • Familiar with IP & neighboring rights,
    public legal management requirements and contemporary content trends
  • Strong command of Luganda is an added
    advantage
  • Strong problem solving skills
