Limited is a subsidiary of Brookside Africa Limited, a dairy processing company
in Kenya, the largest economy in the East African Community. Brookside Dairies
was established in 1993 by members of the Jomo Kenyatta Family, including his
son Uhuru Kenyatta, who was elected President of Kenya in 2013. In 2009, the
Gulf-area-based private equity firm Abraaj Capital paid US$18.7 million for 10
percent shareholding in the business. In 2014, French yoghurt maker Danone paid
an undisclosed sum to acquire a 40 percent stake in Brookside. Beginning in
2013, Brookside has expanded by buying stakes in rival milk processing plants
in Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Uganda. In Uganda, they partly own a
subsidiary, Sameer Agriculture and Livestock Limited.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Manager – Milk Bulking Centre will be
    tasked with ensuring that raw milk received meets set quality standards
  • Accountable for all quality milk received at
    the Centre
  • Regularly monitor and ensure high hygiene
    standards are maintained
  • Carry out route check audits with the aim of
    minimizing or eliminating rejects and variances
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining
    safety requirements
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment at
    the centre
  • Mentor and supervise staff working in the
    centre
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Brookside Manager
    – Milk Bulking Centre job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
    Food or dairy science and Technology or related field
  • At least five years’ experience working in
    dairy or beverage sector
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem
    solving skills
  • Good management and leadership skills
  • Computer literacy skills
