work, rehabilitation, training and education, and health strengthening in the
UK and East Africa. Mildmay Uganda is a faith- based local Non-Governmental
Organisation (NGO) offering Comprehensive HIV Care & treatment, Training,
Research & General Medical Services; also providing Health Systems
Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services in 16 districts of Central
Uganda.
Job Summary: The Grants Accountant will assist the Grants
Finance Manager in providing oversight of all Sub Grants ensuring compliance
with funding source administrative guidelines, accurate submission of financial
reports and tracking of all donor assets.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Grants Accountant should hold a B.Com
    (Accounting), BBA (Accounting), with professional qualification in ACCA,
    CPA or CIMA.
  • At least three years’ experience in middle
    management positions in the Accounting, Finance or Auditing field.
  • The candidates should also have demonstrable
    knowledge of donor financial accounting (multi-donor reporting) and clear
    understanding of GoU and IAS/AFRS accounting requirements.
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in MS
    Word, MS Excel and knowledge of at least one accounting package
    (preferably Navision)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
    skills
  • Working knowledge of English and local
    languages
  • The applicant must also be highly flexible
  • Show sympathy with the Christian values of
    Mildmay Uganda
  • Evidence of a non-judgemental approach
    regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality and lifestyle is critical.
