Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan. They would
like to recruit for a valuable client, an NGO.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Programmes Management:
  • The jobholder will be part of the team
    charged with writing Annual Programme Work plans and budgets for the
    Organisation for funding.
  • Serve as the main signatory to CGC
    Operational Accounts.
  • Supervise office administrative and
    Management tasks such as; Spear heading the   organising of meetings, communication
    and information dissemination from Head Office, resources and assets
    supervision and compile quarterly reports in liaison with users to update
    the Inventory Register.
  • Work closely with the Administrator, enforce
    maintenance of a log book system for the proper and utilisation of vehicles
    and motor cycles, ensure maintenance of fuel and lubricant management
    system for proper and purposeful use of this resource.  Put in place measures that enhance
    assets security, including insurance covers and fire control gadgets,
    develop and implement a proper asset disposal system for the organisation.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team based
    on management direction, provide status reporting of team activities
    against the programme plan or schedule, and keep the programme team
    informed of task accomplishments, issues and status.
  • The incumbent will also co-ordinate the
    preparation, presentation and communication of work related information to
    the supervisor, report to the supervisor periodically on team and
    individual work accomplishments, problems progress in mastering tasks and
    work processes.
  • Co-ordinate all activities under education,
    child protection, health, livelihood, WASH and any other project work in
    the field office.
  • Maintain information and database for all
    programme beneficiaries in our partner schools under the CGC Education
    system, both manually and electronically and submit to the SPO-M & E
    to help follow up on past and present beneficiaries.
  • Plan for home and school visits of our
    beneficiaries in our Partner Schools and compile reports for submission to
    Programme Manager.
  • Actively follow-up on present and past
    beneficiaries – Alumni and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Document experiences and best practices in
    relation to the programme for improvement.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and continually
    evaluate for purposes of improving the child protection activities, to
    ensure that child protection systems are strengthened to protect children
    against violence, abuse, exploitation and discrimination.
  • The incumbent will mobilize and sensitize communities
    on child care, foster care, and parenting including documentation in will
    and memory book writing.
  • In charge of making referrals and working
    with other agencies to offer immediate support about direct and indirect,
    where applicable.
  • Carry out research proposals for funding.
  • Draft technical and financial proposals to
    secure funding.
  • Follow up on present and past beneficiaries –
    Alumni and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Document experiences and best practices in
    relation to the programmes for improvement.
  • As a member of the team, she/he will be
    expected to work together with other staff to accomplish the
    organizational objectives.
  • Fulfill and obey all lawful directives of the
    Employer as given from time to time and not at any time except in case of
    illness or other unavoidable cause absent yourself from service without
    the previous consent of the Programmes Manager.
2. Additional Duties:
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all assets
    Entrusted with, and may be charged for negligence. You will always submit
    a Quarterly Report of the same to your supervisor.
  • Observe and conform to all regulations and
    norms that affect the working environment of Non-Governmental
    Organizations.
  • Perform any other assignments related to the
    Employer’s objectives as provided by the Executive Director and through
    the Programme Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Programme
    Officers/Team Leader jobs should hold Bachelor’s Degrees in SWSA, Social
    Sciences, Social Development, Development Studies, Counseling and
    Guidance, additional training in project planning will be an added
    advantage
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as
    Programme Officer in  reputable NGOs
  • Ethical behavior
  • Skilled in building and managing relationships
  • Effective communication skills
  • High degree of creativity and innovation
