energy everywhere! BioLite develops and manufactures advanced energy products
that make cooking with wood as clean, safe and easy as modern fuels while also
providing electricity to charge cell phones and LED lights off-grid. BioLite
aims to increase access to clean and affordable energy by providing an
innovative low-cost biomass cookstove that not only reduces fuel consumption
but also generates electricity for phone charging and lighting. The innovative
technology on the HomeStove creates a highly efficient fire, reduces soot and
smoke production while generating usable electricity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
The Project Associate will have the following responsibilities:
  • Take lead in training of, and support sales
    by, our BioLite field agents and partner’s staff by doing marketing, HomeStove
    product demonstrations, sales and after-sales service
  • Responsible for inventory management at our
    warehouse, our stocking points and be responsible for distribution of the
    HomeStoves to our partners countrywide
  • Manage BioLite’s Uganda Customer Service
    Phone Line;
  • Attend to the phone and respond to customer inquiries
  • Provide office and operational support to the
    Operations Manager and East Africa Program Manager through logistical
    support, data entry, procurement of marketing materials and other
    assignments as they may arise
  • Provide timely and accurate financial
    accounting to the Operations Manager and East Africa Regional Manager including
    program expenses
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should ideally hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in a related field e.g. Engineering, Marketing, Business,
    Sustainable Development, Renewable Energy, etc.
  • At least a year or two years’ experience in a
    related field;
  • Computer literacy i.e. working knowledge of
    standard office computer software 
    like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and
    attention-to-detail;
  • Significant experience working in a team
    setting
  • Strong passion for sales, technological
    innovations, for traveling up-country and for interacting with many
    different people
