Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In charge of organising media coverage, press
    conferences, press briefs, developing press releases, news bytes and
    write-ups on bank initiatives/ events/ projects that provide information
    to internal and external publics.
  • Responsible for monitoring press, electronic
    and digital publications for solicited and unsolicited bank messages and
    informing respective stakeholders accordingly for any necessary action.
  • Writing and editing speeches for bank
    representatives to be used during events bank wide.
  • Working in liaison with other teams including
    human resource, corporate affairs and marketing to prioritize and ensure a
    consistent flow of timely, relevant, and well framed internal
    communication messages.
  • In charge of leading the implementation of
    the Bank’s major communication initiatives including campaigns and
    publications, and coordinating all channels bank wide.
  • Responsible for developing, updating and
    editing content for the bank’s online channels including social media, the
    website and SharePoint in liaison with stakeholders.
  • In charge of designing and implementing
    online and digital campaigns aimed at promoting bank’s brand, reputation, products
    and services.
  • Actively participating in implementing the
    Bank’s crisis communications and issues management strategy.
  • Evaluating and reporting on all
    communications activities, on a weekly basis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Centenary Bank Corporate
    Communication Supervisor job opportunity should hold an Honours’ degree in
    Mass Communications, Social Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Business
    Administration, or other relevant field from a recognized University. Possession
    of a Post graduate degree in communications / public relations is an added
    advantage.
  • Possession of Professional qualification in
    communications / public relations.
  • At least four years’ experience in a
    commu­nications / public relations role in a fast moving services industry
    / banking / financial institution.
  • Previous exposure and experience in media
    relations management, stakeholder engagement and issues management.
  • Digital and online systems knowledge.
  • Proven ability to design and execute appropriate
    internal and external public relations campaigns and messages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service
    skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while
    focusing on key priorities.
  • Readiness to travel within Uganda.
