About Project:
ChildFund
has received funding to implement the Safe Drinking water project. The project
will be implemented for three years in Wakiso and Kyankwanzi Districts. It focuses
on the use of Proctor and Gamble (P&G) purifiers of water at household and
institutional level. The project team will engage the community at household
level, village health team members, Sub-county and District leaders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Prepares work plans and budgets in
    coordination and with support from regional and local partner (LP) teams.
  • In charge of ensuring budget execution,
    monitoring and reporting.
  • The job holder will organize project
    planning/performance review meetings at community, sub-county and district
    levels for information dissemination and realignment of processes and
    objectives.
  • Offers technical support to the community and
    LP teams on issues concerning project implementation
  • Builds the capacity of and provides supervision
    to project community volunteers (VHTs)
  • Represents ChildFund in relevant fora on
    matters of safe water interventions.
  • Actively monitors and evaluates and supports
    actual implementing of activities at project sites to ensure planned
    objectives are met.
  • Prepares reports and presents to the
    immediate supervisor and stakeholders on quarterly basis
  • Regularly interacts with community representatives
    and direct beneficiaries to discuss progress of the interventions.
  • Keenly tracks project indicators using agreed
    upon tools and formats.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned from
    time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Diploma
    in Environmental Health, Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Adult and Community
    Education, Development Studies or related fields
  • Additional qualification in Project
    Management is essential.
  • Broad working knowledge in rural community
    based water and sanitation initiatives
  • At least two years of post-qualification
    experience in related work in a Child-focused institution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
    skills
  • Good decision making skills and abilities
  • Demonstrable aptitude for teamwork.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay in a rural setting
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle.
  • Good computer literacy skills
