Job Summary: The Engineer,
PS Core & IP Network Planning and Support will develop and provide
planning/ design of the PS core & IP network Capacity, features and
services. The incumbent also plans High Level Bill of Quantity for design &
planning and works towards planning Network Change Plan
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Co-ordinate and provide planning and control of
initiatives, investment, capacity expansion of the PS Core & IP core
(PBN/PCN/CS IP Core, IP RAN and IP Access, IP/MPLS) network nodes
·        
Using commercial forecasted subscriber base, to
forecast required Evolved Packet Core & its peripherals (like Packet
Backbone Network, Caching, DNS, Reporting, WiFi Network etc on soft and hard
capacities
·        
Actively monitor end to end utilisation to provide
forecasts aimed at providing head room to control route congestion.
·        
Technically support the development and execution of
PS Core & IP Core network operational, expansion and evolution
·        
Provide Quarterly NCP (Network change plan )
including the any design changes forecasted on the core network:
·        
Provide BOQ output in liaison with the Managed
capacity Vendor or Core equipment vendor.
·        
Following up extensions and Installation of core
Network nodes.
·        
Take part in UAT and FNI of features as well as
HW/SW of PS Core & IP Core nodes.
·        
Ensure that all new nodes under domain are documented
and comply to Bharti Information security policy
·        
Observation of KPI as a pro-active measure to
prevent service degradation, capacity chocking and most specifically after
network interventions. Always ensure sufficient headroom is available for HW and
SW capacities
·        
Auditing of core network configuration maintained by
the Managed Services Partner and report any anomalies.
·        
Evaluation of Network and Service implications prior
integration of new Circuit switches, extensions on core nodes or node service
releases
·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Networks
Service Head
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Electronics, IT,  Computer Science, Telecommunications or
equivalent
·        
At least five years’ experience in the
Telecommunications sector in relevant field of design & planning
·        
Evolved Packet Core & IP Domain
·        
Applies extensive technical expertise on Mobile Data
broadband
·        
Strong planning & design skills and problem
solving skills
·        
Good analytical skills
·        
Business awareness
·        
High personal standards and goal oriented, high
motivation
·        
Excellent interpersonal skills
·        
Good and effective communications skills, both
orally and in writing
·        
Able to operate in a performance driven organization
