Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan. They would
like to recruit for a valuable client aBi Trust. The Agribusiness Initiative
(aBi) Trust is an institution set up by the governments of Uganda and Denmark
to support agribusiness initiatives in the country. In particular it is to
support the private sector to increase their contribution to the agricultural
sector by increasing productivity and competitiveness leading to poverty
reduction through economic growth, wealth, and employment creation.  The vision of aBi Trust is of “competitive
private sector led agriculture in Uganda” with the mission to “promote private
sector driven agribusiness development to enhance wealth creation in the
country.” The aBi Trust achieves its mission and vision through interrelated
subcomponents.
Job Summary: The Driver will
offer driving services for transportation of authorized personnel and official
communications within the Trust.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
·        
The incumbent will be tasked with driving aBi
Trust’s vehicles to take staff /authorized personnel for official duties around
town or upcountry
·        
Regularly check the vehicle to ensure that it is in
good condition, i.e. perform pre and post driving checks.
·        
Report faults if any and request for vehicle repairs
and service when it is due
·        
Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean
·        
Update and maintain a log book
·        
Identify and organise repair or replacement of
faulty, worn or damaged equipment;
·        
Demonstrate safety procedures for an unplanned
breakdown;
·        
Deliver official letters and parcels;
·        
Adherence to traffic rules and regulations
·        
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from
time to time by the Administrative Assistant.

Extent of satisfaction with Driver services
·        
Effectiveness in terms of keeping schedule
·        
Level of compliance with traffics rules and
regulations.
·        
Safety aspects undertaken during their roles
·        
Courtesy and honesty
·        
On time response to instructions
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
·        
The applicants for the Driver Jobs must at least
hold an A’ level certificate
·        
Hold a valid driver’s License
·        
Defensive driver’s training /Certificate
·        
A minimum of three years of related work experience.
·        
Extensive experience in defensive driving
·        
Knowledge of Ugandan Traffic Laws and regulation
·        
Familiarity with the relevant traffic rules and
regulations that govern their area of responsibility.
·        
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
and guards the handling of sensitive or high risk information appropriately.
·        
Demonstrates and adheres to the behaviors that are
consistent with standards for professional and ethical conduct within aBi trust      
·        
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
·        
Effective verbal, presentation and listening
communication skills
·        
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
·        
Ability to maintain composure at all times.
