Markets USA, Ltd. is implementing a USAID-funded USAID/Uganda Private Health
Support Program (PHS) program which will contribute to establishing a more
viable and cost-effective private sector option for health services in Uganda.
PUS includes three components: 1) expanded availability of health services by
private service providers; 2) increased affordability of private health
services and products; and 3) improved quality of private health sector
facilities and services.

Job Summary: The Program
Assistant supports in the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and
reporting of the USAID PNFP OVC program activities. The incumbent will support
37 OVC grantees to ensure the approved activities are implemented and
documented in accordance with Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development
priorities and guidelines and in compliance with USAID/PEPFAR
requirements/expectations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

budgets for the OVC program in line with MGLSD priorities, guidelines/tools and
USAID/PEPFAR requirements as well as Cardno policies and procedures.

activities in line with the approved work plans, budgets and addressing program

Actively participate in OVC program coordination to
ensure coherent and technical implementation by assisting OVC grantees to
understand core program areas and supporting them to fully document the work
done.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

The Program Assistant – OVC should hold a bachelor’s
degree in social work, social sciences, community development studies or
related field essential. Possession of a higher degree in social sciences will
be an added advantage.

At least three (3) years’ work experience in OVC
program planning, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation especially in the
context of HIV/ AIDS preferred.

Prior exposure and experience in supporting
performance-based grant programs particularly working with district child
protection structures and community faith-based organizations desired.
