Key Duties and Responsibilities:   
·        
Provide overall strategic HR leadership to the Bank;
Direct or define goals and objectives for the acquisition, retention, and
development of human capital and talent.
·        
Foster a workplace environment consistent with the
Christian values and mission outlined by the leadership of Opportunity International
and Opportunity Bank.
·        
The incumbent will serve as internal consultant to
the Senior Leadership team, supervisors, and employees on personnel issues that
affect performance and business relationships.
·        
Offer leadership and consulting to the CEO and management
on matters of goal-setting, policy development and strategic implementation in
support of achieving corporate objectives and performance management.
·        
Works in liaison with the Africa Regional HR
Director to evaluate, develop, and lead the HR department with a goal of
earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive internal
consulting group.                  
·        
Develop and recommend operating budget for the Human
Resources function and ensure department operates within budget allocations;
Make expenditure adjustments during the budget cycle as appropriate to ensure
efficient funds management; Recruits, directs, motivates, and  HR evaluates staff.
·        
Consult with legal counsel as needed and update and
advise the executive leadership on legal issues as necessary.
·        
Direct and coordinate the development of policies
and procedures to ensure effective management of Human Resources.
·        
Ensure that all elements of employee records,
benefits files, corporate documents, etc., meet compliance rules and are kept
up to date.
·        
Ensure that all employee information is current in
the HRIS system and that HR staff work within legislated guidelines at all
times.
·        
Responsible to implement and maintain ‘audit’
standards, and keep HR Operations in compliance with regulatory and privacy
standards
·        
Works in liaison with Opportunity International HR
to support ongoing development of future leaders through a combination of
succession planning, career development, Opportunity International Learning
Center Programs, leadership training, and personal mentoring activities.
·        
Keep the organization abreast of industry trends and
innovations; Seek continuous renewal and innovations in delivery of services
and operating systems.
·        
Direct or develop the evaluation of the human
resources and professional development department structure and team in order
to plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the
group
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Business or equivalent work experience, MBA preferred, GPHR certification
preferred. 
·        
At least fifteen years of progressively responsible
experience in human with 10 years of experience in a senior HR leadership role
is required. 
·        
Significant experience in a commercial banking or
microfinance environment is strongly preferred.
·        
Computer literacy skills including MS Office,
advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency and Visio.  Knowledge of HR and Payroll systems.
