Job Summary: The Partnership
Auditor Team Lead supports the Compassion International Country Director in
ensuring control, monitoring and improvement of finance and administration
practices of ministry partners and projects. This will be achieved through
regular monitoring and review of administration procedures and reports and
periodic audits of partner entities. This placement will also involve training,
correction and follow up procedures. The incumbent explicitly follows
Compassion’s matrix management guidelines and policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Develops and implements monitoring and evaluation
systems that are consistent with Compassion requirements in the tracking of Key
Results Areas/ Indicators.
·        
Regularly reviews monthly and annual financial
reports and supporting documents for projects. Communicates findings to the
Partnership Facilitator, Management Team and the Project Director.
·        
Travels to Compassion Assisted Projects to audit
operational and financial systems, administration records, accountability
procedures, staffing, planning, budgets, specific key result indicators, legal
compliance and general management practices. These audits will be conducted in
a facilitative manner, emphasizing opportunities for training ministry partner
workers.
·        
Works closely with Country Director to schedule
meetings and project audits and to share evaluations, assessments,
recommendations or findings from audit visits and submits regular written
reports to the Country Director on duties and audits performed.
·        
Supplies program staff with regular updated
information on the operational status of projects as compared to plans and
budgets submitted.
·        
Offers technical support in the completion of Church
Partners financial planning and budgeting process.
·        
Keeps current on developments in accounting,
auditing, not-for-profit issues and government regulations.
·        
Develops and maintains interdepartmental
relationships through collaboration with all Departments and Teams for the
realization of Ministry strategies.
·        
Performs any other duties as assigned by the
supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should hold a good Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting, Auditing or Financial Management.
·        
Member of an accounting body like ACCA, CPAU will be
an added advantage.
·        
At least three years’ experience in accounting or
auditing.
·        
Ability to drive with a valid driving permit will be
an added advantage.
·        
Be a mature Christian based on evangelical Christian
values; has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is above reproach in
integrity and honesty.
·        
The applicants must have a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ.
·        
Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains
a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of
Compassion and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
·        
Possess the ability and desire to work within one’s
influence to serve as an advocate for children around the world who live in
poverty and are not able to speak out for themselves. This includes being
informed about the issues of children and influencing others to care about
children who are in need.
·        
Computer literacy and working knowledge using
Microsoft Office for operational management, including Microsoft products.
·        
Sound judgment and analytical skills.
·        
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for
relating effectively with country office, project staff and Corporate Audit
department.
·        
Ability to travel up to 50% and work within a
flexible work schedule.
·        
Working knowledge and experience of relevant local
laws.
