Job Summary: The Family
Planning Technical Advisor will provide technical and program oversight,
direction and manage implementation of the project. The incumbent will also
provide managerial oversight and guidance to other projects and will also
support Jhpiego-Uganda’s new program development efforts. Some of the other job
responsibilities will include organizing and planning project implementation;
preparing annual work plans; providing technical guidance in the development
and implementation of FP program/training activities, ensuring the technical
and methodological soundness of FP activities; and ensuring the timely,
high-quality implementation and reporting of project activities. In
collaboration with the project team and partners, He/She will also support the
design of program delivery strategies, based on sound and current scientific
evidence. The FP Technical Advisor will also contribute to the overall strategy
and management of the Jhpiego Country Office.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant for the Family Planning Technical
Advisor placement must hold a Graduate degree in Health, Public Health,
Clinical or related field
·        
A minimum of five years’ experience applying family
planning/reproductive health
·        
Past exposure and experience in one or more of the
following areas: strengthening of health services, health provider training,
health performance improvement, monitoring and evaluation and supervision
·        
Qualification as a trainer; experience training
health workers on clinical aspects related to family planning
·        
Possess the ability to liaise with MOH officials and
dignitaries, NGOs, FBOs, CBOs and development partners
·        
Detailed knowledge and understanding of Ugandan
healthcare system, particularly the public health system, experience living and
working in Uganda preferred
·        
Excellent track record in managing a project team
composed of several technical staffs and fostering team work
