Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) is a national Faith-Based
Non-Government Organization comprising of the Roman Catholic Church, the Church
of Uganda, the Uganda Orthodox Church, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, the
Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Pentecostal and Evangelical Churches. IRCU’s
Vision is: ‘a divinely peaceful, united, prosperous Uganda where all people
enjoy full health and freedoms for the common good.’ The Council implements a
range of programs namely HIV/AIDS and Public Health, Gender Based Violence
Prevention, Peace, Justice and Governance.
Job Summary:  The Peace and Stability Facilitators will
actively support the regional peace and stability forums to mobilize and build
capacity of religious leaders, women and youth inter-faith networks to work
together for peaceful before, during and after elections.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Conduct timely research for evidence-based
information
·        
Detect potential conflicts and promptly report
·        
Actively mobilize key stakeholders and organize
consultations
·        
The incumbent will maintain the cooperation and
communication between IRCU secretariat, regional forums and other key
stakeholders
·        
Document outputs of regional peace and stability
activities
·        
Coordinate regional media campaigns for peaceful
elections
·        
The incumbent will act as Personal Assistants to the
Regional Chairpersons
·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the
Programme Specialist.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicants should preferably hold degrees
(Second Upper) from recognized universities in any of the following areas;
Peace and Conflict studies, LLB, Development Studies, Sociology/Social
Administration, Political science, Gender Studies, Community Development or
other related social sciences.
·        
At least two years’ experience in an NGO/CBO
operating in the area of peace and conflict transformation/humanitarian
assistance/project management and/or monitoring and evaluation of projects/programmes,
community development or research.
·        
Excellent management and organizational skills
·        
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·        
Excellent written and oral skills
·        
Computer literacy skills
·        
Ability to work independently and with a team
·        
Leadership and teambuilding skills
Note: Evidenced work experience shall
