About CEDP:
The Government
of Uganda has received credit from the World Bank towards implementation of the
Competitive and Enterprise Development Project (CEDP). The project development
objective (PDO) is to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in Uganda
through supporting reforms in priority productive and service sectors geared
towards a better investment climate with particular focus on MSMEs. The 5 year
project comprises of four major components and is implemented by seven agencies
among them is Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB). However, the overall
coordination of the Project lies with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda
(PSFU) through a Project Coordination Unit (PCU). URSB is implementing
Component 2: Business Registration and Business licensing reforms that seek to
reduce the burden for businesses in dealing with registration and licenses
procedure by creating an online one-stop-shop for business registration and an
e-registry for business licensing, and implementing measures aimed at
simplifying and streamlining business registration and licensing procedures.
Job Summary: The Project
Support Officer will provide timely support to the Project Management team and
help them to deliver on the project outputs on time, within budget and within
the required quality. The incumbent will also be responsible for setting up and
monitoring submissions to the coordination office, providing first point of
contact for general enquiries, organizing and taking minutes at scheduled
meetings and to input, retrieve and present information using a computer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Providing administrative and project support and assistance
to the project team
·        
In charge of updating work plans and assisting with
preparation of reports
·        
Supporting the Project Office Team in reporting and
forecasting
·        
In charge of organizing project meetings and other
relevant forums on request including facilitation like invitations, facilities
booking, agenda production, minute-taking and issuing.
·        
The incumbent will also build and strengthen working
relationships with clients, suppliers, or company employees outside the
immediate work area to exchange information.
·        
Maintains project calendar.
·        
Arranges project-related travel and/or events.
·        
Generates simple documents, such as letters, memos,
spreadsheets and presentations.
·        
Supports the Project Team in the planning and
execution of work schedules, project reviews, and project/programme highlight
reports.
·        
Responsible for ensuring that all project
documentation is stored logically and securely in accordance with agreed document
management processes.
·        
Render support in the procurement of goods and
services, including raising requisitions, tracking purchase orders, processing receipts,
budget monitoring and maintenance of all associated records.
·        
Work closely with all parties (including IT
colleagues, users, departments and system suppliers) on issues that arise
during the project life cycle.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate for the World Bank Project
Support Officer vacancy should hold an honors Bachelor’s degree in Public
Administration, International Relations, Mass communication, Law or equivalent
from a recognized university. Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business
Administration, Public relations, International Relations Public Policy or
Planning and Management discipline or equivalent is a requirement. The
candidate must have good evidence of working within a Project environment, with
a strong administrative background.

Project management training and skills is an added
advantage
·        
A minimum of four years working experience gained
with government/ or large and reputable private or donor funded organization,
with vast knowledge of government policies and private sector.
·        
Successful candidates will show the ability to think
clearly and calmly when faced with issues or problems.
·        
The candidate must also demonstrate an ability to
work to stringent deadlines and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly
improve services.
·        
Possess the ability to prioritize tasks and manage
time effectively to meet tight deadlines
·        
Good planning and organizational skills
·        
Computer literacy i.e. excellent word processing,
spreadsheet, database and internet research skills. Proficiency in Microsoft
Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
·        
Good problem solving, negotiation and follow-up
skills
·        
Excellent interpersonal skills – verbal and written
communication
·        
Judgment, discretion, initiative, ability to work
independently
·        
Flexibility and ability to learn quickly
·        
Keen attention to detail and active listening skills
·        
Solutions-oriented with ability to work in a high
intensity work environment
·        
Ability to work well with all levels of internal
management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors and to interact
professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff
