last 20years providing a full range of prudential lending and investment
products.
Job Summary: The Head, Corporate
Communications & Marketing will drive a disciplined and integrated
communications and reputational strategy across OBL network in Uganda and
position OBL as the leading and dominant financial services institution, both
within and across the East African territory. 
The incumbent will plan, develop and project the corporate image of the
Bank in line with the strategic direction of the Bank, Bank policies and best
practice through:

Branding activities
·        
Product Development
·        
Development and Implementation of Public Relations
strategies/programmes
·        
Planning, development and implementation of marketing
strategies/programmes
·        
Drive the execution of profitable campaigns in the
OBL network
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Trade strategy development and it’s entrenchment in
the bank’s commercial planning process.
·        
Develop marketing strategies and communicate the
bank’s vision, goals and objectives and ensure alignment of unit’s goals and
activities
·        
Manage the development and review the annual
marketing plan for the bank in line with the projected growth levels, the
existing business levels and Bank business plan and Policies
·        
Develop, review and monitor the bank’s market
information system and make strategic recommendations in line with the growth
projections and the existing business levels and Bank Policies
·        
Charged with the responsibility for complete
stewardship and execution of the OBL through the Line (TTL) thus Below the Line
(BTL) and above The Line (ATL) Adverting and Promotion (A&P) schematic
marketing mix activities to drive budget allocation.
·        
Manage the development and review the product
development programs/projects for the bank in line with the business plan, the
market information and the regulatory frame work.
·        
Stewardship of the measurement and evaluation of new
product development.
·        
Plan, review and monitor the implementation of the
brand building and consolidation strategies of the bank and submit regular
compliance reports in line with the core values of the Bank
·        
Develop and project a reputable public image for the
Bank to reflect its vision, strategic direction and enhance its competitive
positioning
·        
Manage the monitoring and surveillance activities to
ensure the Bank’s corporate image and reputation is upheld and not tarnished
·        
Stay abreast of industry and corporate developments,
events and issues in support of the Bank’s corporate image and
responsibilities.
·        
Develop a framework to gauge the public perception
of the Bank and develop appropriate strategies and action steps to ensure
alignment of public perception with the image desired by the Bank.
·        
Receive, review and determine appropriate course of
action with respect to project and program proposals in support of the Bank’s
corporate image and reputation.
·        
Manage the planning, organizing and execution of
corporate and social events.
·        
Develop and establish beneficial relationships with
media houses, agencies etc., in support of the Bank’s corporate image and
reputation.
·        
Provide support and direction to Business Units in
the conduct of product/ service campaigns/programs.
·        
Develop a system to cohesively coordinate all
activities relating to the allocation, procurement and distribution of
corporate gifts.
·        
Manage the resolution of related issues emanating
from both internal and external sources as may be considered appropriate.
·        
Develop and monitor the performance of the
department.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Commerce or Business Related Field (MBA or MSC (PR) and or professional qualification
compulsory) Development towards a Chartered Marketer is desirable
·        
At least eight to fifteen years’ relevant
experience.
·        
People Management Skills

Working knowledge of the Media Industry
·        
Exceptional written & oral communications skills

Product Development knowledge
·        
Working knowledge and understanding of Branding
·        
Marketing skills
·        
Project Management Knowledge
·        
Research skills
