Job Summary:  The Finance and Administration Manager will steer
and develop an internal team to support the following areas: Finance, Business
Planning and Budgeting, Administration, and IT. The incumbent will have the
unique chance to play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership
team in strategic decision making and operations as AAU continues to enhance
its quality programming and build capacity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1.
Financial Management:
·        
Take on the leadership on all financial issues
including reporting, cash flow, forecasting, mentor, supervise and appraises
the finance team
·        
Responsible for developing and implementing all
necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s
overall effectiveness.
·        
Coordinate and steer the annual audit process,
liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of
directors; assess any changes necessary.
·        
Effectively communicate and present the critical
financial matters to the board of directors.
·        
Implements Sage Pastel Evolution ERP system and
trains all Sage usage.
·        
Work closely and transparently with all external
partners including third-party vendors and consultants.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The candidate should hold a B.A. from a recognized
professional accounting/ finance qualification such as CPA/ ACCA.
·        
A minimum seven to ten years of overall professional
experience; six years of broad financial and operations management experience.
·        
The ideal candidate should have experience of final
responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and
audit coordination for either a division or significant program area, and has
preferably had operation experience with general business administration
processes (ideally incl. human resources).
·        
Working knowledge accounting and reporting software
and applications of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS),
International Accounting standards (IAS’s), and International Standards on
Auditing (ISA’s).
·        
Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in using
accounting packages like Sage Pastel Evolution
·        
Excellent track record in setting priorities; keen,
analytical, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable
sound decision making.
·        
Excellent communication and relationship building
skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of
internal and external stakeholders.
·        
Willingness to settle in a developing area
