Pharmacist
States Government under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief
key partner in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Uganda that plans to complement
the Government of Uganda’s (GOU) effort in addressing the Human Resources for
Health (HRH) shortage. The support aims to scale up HIV/AIDS prevention, care
and treatment interventions in light of the rising HIV/AIDS prevalence in the
country. Health workers recruited under this support will be contracted by the
implementing Partners and they will be seconded to identified hospitals and
Health Centres.
Takes participates in quality preparation of
compounded medicine and infusions and ensures proper storage.
In charge of preparing requisitions and ensures that
supplies are available.
Guides and updates clinicians on prescriptions.
Works closely with ward management in ensuring that
drugs are properly recorded and stored.
Participates in planning and budgeting for the
pharmacy unit and accounts for the medicines and infusions.
Participates in drugs and clinically related
research.
Compiles and sends reports to the Senior Pharmacist.
Ensures equipment is functional and well maintained.
Works closely with National Drug Authority in
ensuring that all medicines conform to prescribed standards.
Guides patients and communities on the proper use
and storage of drugs.
Imparts knowledge and skills to students and Staff.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned from
time to time.
should hold Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or its equivalent from a recognized
University or Institution.

Short listed candidates shall be required to bring
their unlaminated original certificates at the interview. Failure to present
the original certificates or any other relevant documents may lead to automatic
disqualification from interviews. Health Workers who are on long term training
must not apply.
Shortlisted candidates shall be required to bring their original certificates
unlaminated at the interview. Candidates who will present forged certificates
are to be handed over to the Police for appropriate action. Health workers who are already in government
service or private not for profit (PNFP) employment should not apply and will
not be considered.
